The holy person in a painting is in the presence of God because of this factor we are always praying to him through the iconography.“The art of the icon is essentially a witness to an eternal presence, and each holy person like a sacrament of divine beauty.” (St. Clement of Alexandria) The garments of the holy person are in some ways an inner image of the soul and body of the weaver. This shows how the clothing is a symbol of the love for God. Just as priests and sister wear there holy clothing.
